He needs to get it checked out by a doctor. Its quite probably something benign like fluid collecting around it, however there is a chance it may be something else in which case it needs investigating.

Us men aren't good at going to see doctors at the best of time and we're ten times worse when it comes to our private bits. So you probably need to coerce him along with some gentle persuasion.

Same thing happened to me when I was younger, turned out to be just fluid, they did a small op to drain it and everythings been fine since.

It is not that one testicle gets larger than the other but that one testicle gets smaller than the other normal one. This is due to lack of semen being filled in that testicle. The lack of semen is due to the seminal cord being damaged on one side of the body. The seminal cord is damaged most of the time (80%), by Chlamydia which is a venereal disease caused by having sex with someone else who had it. This decease clears up with meds, but a person does not find out they have this until too late and the cord gets permanently damaged. The other cause is being in an accident or physical trauma of some kind. Cancer is even less of a cause.

Sudden swelling, almost always on the left side might be a Hydrocele, collection of fluid around the spermatic cord. This also could be a hernia, or spermatocele. If he won't go in to be checked, you could offer to examine him, and see if it is a mass abouve the testicle, or thickening in the spermatic bundle, the connection of the teste to the abdomen. One easy way to see if it is fluid is to shine a strong flashlight thru the scrotum, if it is a solid mass then the light will not easily pass thru it. If it is fluid, you can see the light passing thru it. One easy home test, and he might find it fun.

NO! why do you ask? if you know a man whos testes are different sizes as of late, then he needs to go to the doctor ....while most testicular cancers are slow growing and can be cured, it is not smart to wait til you can definately tell that one is bigger than the other!! he needs to go to the doctor (family) and have him assess the situation... he will pass him along to a onc doctor if he feels it might be cancerous....

Have the doctor check it for testicle cancer, usually increased size and lumps are nothing but better safe than sorry.

Coax him to go see a doctor, it could be cancer or fluid trapped in the testicles that needs to be removed. It could turn into needing to have that testicle removed.

heck, if he is a normal man he has had one testicle bigger than the other since puberty. All normal guys do.

I think it's normal. I don't mean to be rude, but that's the way mine are and they've been with for a very long time. I go to an urologist and he hasn't said that there was a problem.
