Have you ever re-gifted and if so, how did you feel? Guilty? Nothing at all?

I do and I don't care. :) heh

I have. I got this beautiful candle from a friend of mine, but nowhere to put it where my cat wouldn't destroy it. So, I left it in the gift bag it came in and gave it to one of my co-workers. She loved it and everyone was happy. I guess I don't see what the big deal is, really. As long as they don't find out, who cares? What ever happened to "it's the thought that counts?"

Yes! No guilt at all! I just make sure I know the person I am re-gifting to likes the item!

Me and some friends have had this re-gift item that has been passed around for the past 5 years. It's a coffee maker no one wants. It's become a great joke - "Who's gonna get the crappy coffee maker this year?!"

Sure I have. I've gotten bottles of wine (I don't really drink so a bottle can live in my cupboard for years) and same with chocolates or jam gift boxes, teas, etc. I don't need all the calories...so if I get them early enough they get passed on to someone who could use them.

I don't regift because I don't LIKE the item. I give it to charity. If I don't like it chances are neither is anyone else.

Some gifts are worth hanging on to and giving away to teachers, bus drivers, just people you want to acknowledge but not spend a fortune on. I just made 11 gift baskets for all the different teachers my kids have...I didn't spend a fortune, about $5-7 each...but got them things like glass coasters, mugs, xmas dishes, tucked in a nice dollar store Christmas napkin/oven mitts/apron and put it all in a little basket and voila...looks as nice as any $20 basket you buy in the stores. Actually that inspired me to do the same for my nieces and I made them HUGE baskets with all kinds of neat little things from soaps to coffees to wine glass rings and bottle stoppers, etc. They look like a million and can't wait to see their reactions...and hey, if they don't need them...they can regift them! LOL

This year i did it. I got a satelite radio and i dont need it so i am giving it to my parents.

Yes definitely. If I get things I don't like - candles, boxes of biscuits etc I can't eat - I'll give them to other people, but not my close friends, just people that I need to give a present to to be polite. That sort of thing.

I'm not a regifter, but I do use the same bags and bows over and over...not wrapping paper tho. Not bc i'm cheap, just because I really like them.

I've never done it, I think it's rude, even if you don't like something that was given to you.
