I think it's better to have a strong voice with range, because it is more moving to people. However, I would imagine some would prefer a a sweet, soft voice, if they would like to be soothed.

Have a sweet soft voice when talking and then get out there and
let 'er rip like Charlotte Church, Sarah Brightman or Mariah Carey
so you see you can have both. Gomer Pyle even had both, his
laid back hillbilly accent then the booming, smooth strong voice when singing.

depends entirely on what song they're singing. Some songs are better with a sweet, soft voice, others are better with a strong voice.

It depends on your taste and ability. Each has their strong points. Personally, I prefer a voice with range. Keeps things interesting.

A sweet soft voice because it is less irritating and people have to actually listen!!!!!
