I can't imagine WalMart shutting down any time soon. Employment there is only secure while you remain in favor of the management staff. Have anyone there not like you and you're out the door in the blink of an eye. WalMart isn't the sort of place that I'd recommend as a career for anyone. Summer or evening jobs for students, someone retired looking for a little extra money, or other short term / non committed people is one thing, but I hope you're not hoping to stay long term!

what i spend at wal mart per year most likely will cover your pay check. Feel safe that wal mart will be around for a good long time. As for your employment..never ever get comfortable in your job...it could be someone else's tomorrow!

I think wal-mart will continue to profit, so your job is safe UNLESS
you and your co workers try to bring the union into the picture.
It's been done, they have closed an entire store because the
employees were tired of their low wages and no benefit package.

Don't worry and happy holidays

Walmart is not going to shut down, they also are owned/own Sam's Club and other interests. Don't get scared by the lawsuit situations. Unfortunately your company gets some unreal number of suits filed against them a day. Some are legitimate, more of them are not. It's not the stores fault when your kid jumps up and down in the cart until it tips over, they smack their head on the floor and get hurt. That makes me mad when I see people do things, get hurt, then blame the store or business.

Anyways, don't worry about it. As long as you are doing your job well and not breaking the rules your job will be safe as long as you want to work for Walmart.

I think you are pretty safe working at Wal-Mart. This is a very sound company & their sales are in the billions each year.

If you are concerned about the safety of your job I will say "stop worrying" if you are concerned about the quality of your job, I will say "What do you wait to look for a better place?". Wall Mart is a sweat shop and there is a good reason at their outrageous profits : 3.59% net margin and 22% return on equity... You should ask for an increase of yoiur wages.

You're safe, there's no way they're going under any time soon. But, you could be making more money and getting good health insurance at just about any other company. Why not look at what's out there?

employment shouldn't be considered as safe . . always be on the look out for something better. . I don't see Walmart going under . .
but you could loose your job for other reasons like a supervisor that doesn't like you or profitablity (you make too much) . .
