KNOW YOUR ENEMY.
this is the most interesting way to judge people. because then there is a possibility that you might want to know the other side of any story. now people here who are trying to blame Saddam and are asking him to be gased or hanged are forgetting one thing. Bush or Blair are not chartered to bring him to justice nor do they have any right to.. that is the specific reason UN was created. side stepping UN and taking law into their hands was biggest mistake committed by Bush and Blair. Now I would like to admire the guts of Blair, who to an extent admitted that war on Iraq was a mistake. Bush on the other hand is still the arrogant and ignorant fool of a cat, who still is closing his eyes and drinking milk and thinks that no one is watching him. Yes. History will judge them and I think they do not have any right to tear a country apart for their war mongering wills! I guess was Iraq was in a better position with peace and unity before US and UK entered it with false pretences.

Yes they should face war crimes trials but unfortunately the losers are the ones who facve these trials while the winners get away scot free.
It is like the dropping of the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Japanese govt called these war crimes at the time and this has recently been restated by a Japanese politician. But the Allies won the war and not the Japan.

i know my answer comes much later than the ignorant people asking you to define a war crime and therefore they will not get the chance to read this but of course you are right.
saddam should have faced war crime charges too, undoubtedly, and he is worse than blair or bush, but there's no doubt that they have broken international law on a number of points (and don't forget it's Britain and the US who wrote most international law).
the two regimes (and therefore the leaders) are guilty of breaking international law (and therefore are international criminals) for at least 5 reasons:
(1) the invasion of iraq was illegal under international law (UN charter) according to Kofi Annan, UN secretary general
(2) the torture of prisoners is illegal under geneva conventions
(3) the use of certain weapons (ie white phosophorus as the US used in fallujah and probably elsewhere) illegal under geneva conventions
(4) the detention of prisoners without proper rights (guantanamo bay) is illegal under the spirit of Geneva conventions - this one is down to bush, even blair calls it an anomaly.
(5) the use of the death penalty (for Saddam) is against international human rights law (though the US breaks this anyway)
so, next time someone accuses you of not knowing your stuff, point to the UN charter (US written) Geneva Conventions (largely US written) and Human Rights Law (US initiated and written by Truman's wife).
they are criminals but will not face legal retribution because the only real enforcer of international law is the US (obviously very selectively). Good question, with lots of ignorant answerers.

Yes - so should the Israeli military .
An Israeli soldier has admited that the ocupation is done with brutal force and in a style similar to the Nazi's .
Bush and Blair are power mad strong men who have shed a lot of blood based on an unfounded rumour of WMD .
That said are you going to be the one to storm in and say "hey stop that" ? No and niether is anyone else going to either.
Should they ? Yes will that ever happen or even bec0ome slightly possible it might in the next 200 years ? No
The worst these men are going to face is a bad review in a history book somewhere long down the road.

i would like more info on the "crimes". as for saddam, his "crimes were done with the knowledge of them by politicians. you could say with approval, since no one cared at the time. ignoring a crime can make one a co-defendant.

ask yourself this question --- who is going to arrest them ? the chances are they would be condemned as the ones who caused the breakup of Iraq after they gone six feet under.
