An appointment with a professional would probably get the best professional opinion.
But...given what you've said, could be a dissociative disorder which is very treatable with therapy.
Just love yourself and get some help. That rocks!

I think it's things that have had a profound effect on you psychologically that you can't get rid off like you said. Hey, i'm no professional in psychology but i am in ap psych in high school. psychologist will come up will come up with all the crap they can to get you on medicine and to help them pay their bills. I had a similar problem like you when I was from 11-15. I will tell you that i have been on so much crap it's not even funny. I used to hear voices of very evil and dreadful things. Honestly, it's been almost a year now since I haven't heard any voices or had night mares. For me, I joined a church group. I'm telling you tha tif you find a good group of people to help you it really help. mine has a recovery program and i've been attending it. At the beggining the dreams and voices were still there. But then I hear my pastor say that when you allow what people have said to you in the past get in your mind it affetcs your success. I think it's also maybe because anything bad that happens you may dwell on those events in your life. Maybe you actually believe or listen to the voices which causes them to reoccur. I know i sound cheesy but really if you hadn't had any thoughts about doing bad things I'm very happy for you. Just be strong and get some good friends. Or maybe even one friend. If thigs are going on you can let me know and i'll try and get you hooked to something and no i don't mean a drug. ;) good luck!

It sounds like there is something in your subconscious that is haunting you. This is called dissociation. Basically... part of your memories are split from the rest of your mind/psyche. It is a defense mechanism, but it can lead to some problems. Severe cases lead to multiple personality disorder, but it doesn't sound like you have that. This can also be the result of post-tramautic stress disorder. A good therapist should be able to use psychoanalysis to help you discover what this is. Most of the time, just talking about it to a good listener makes it better.
I have seen a therapist regularly since I was 6 or 7 years old. It has helped me out a lot. There may be some stigma to it, but it will make you feel so much better. I promise.

i'm probable going to be of little help right here so I apologise for that, regardless of the indisputable fact that i recognize what you propose. I actually have suffered from very depressive episodes interior the previous and in the course of that complete time i got here upon myself continually having battles with 'myself' because it were. Like there will be 2 me's, the irrational voice interior my head that would want to tell me i'm valueless and all the undesirable issues that contain a low shallowness and then the rational voice because it were that stopped me from doing something stupid. i do not recognize if it ability something yet i recognize that that's probable basically your low-self-worth and also you unconciously reminding your self of what you actual believe? Sorry i could not were of any more desirable help, solid success mutually with your appointment.

It is called your conscious. Listen to all the various things, conversations, etc that go on in your mind, but not believe everything you hear as the truth pertaining yourself, and life !
Use reason and logic, while practicing what is called "The Four Noble Truths AND The Noble Eightfold Path" in order to guide you to end all your pain and suffering you experience in your thoughts, emotions, and life. And as a result, you will have Happiness and True Peace !!

Everyone hears a voice in their head, conscience . But if yours is asking a question then I would only say that question is the key. And I am thinking you may know the answer to it but need to hear it from someone else to validate what it is you already may know.
I know the stigma associated with psychotherapy but it really is commonplace nowadays and do not put off seeing a therapist if you feel it may help. You do not have to be "crazy" to go to therapy, but you may be for NOT going.

there are so many forms of mental illness, that you really do need to seek professional help. there is no shame in mental illness, only in not accepting medical intervention. it may be the past you had continuously being discussed by your subconscious, but it may be that you have chemical imbalances, that may require a subtle tweak by meds. be safe, and go see a doctor please.
as for everyone hearing voices, and the voices being conscience... we have a telepathy with the inner workings of our heads, but we dont "hear" them as such. we feel them, we know them, as we are one with them. we do not hear them as if we are outside of the voice. the difference between conscience and imbalance is the distance from the "voice". if the voice is you, and you are one with it, thats fine. but if you are a voyeur of it, a distant passenger, then you may need help to bring the voice and you together, or to remove it if it means you harm.

We all have voices, sort of...it is our ego self. I believe we consist of an ego self, what we call "I", which consists of a so called "personality", which is our "mind" telling us all kind of random thoughts and observations, that are influenced by all kinds of events and things that have happened in the past (this is called conditioning). If you have gone through a lot of bad things, these voices are usually negative and may try to bring you down, its almost like an enemy living in your head. You gotta learn to just be, and don't listen to what this ego tells you. Your pure existance is more powerful than this. Certain mystics attempt to completely kill this ego/mind/what you call "I". Read "Mystic Path to Cosmic Power" by Vernon Howard. That is a good start.
Man, my thoughts used to beat me up. Now I realized how negative they are and untrue. They paint a scary picture of what is to come in the future but you just gotta follow through, see them for what they are, ignore them. What you are, the fact that you are existing, is stronger than these beliefs. There is something in you that is stronger than any one of your weaknesses.

Hearing voices is the most common form of schizophrenia. It can happen in the best of families and usually starts occurring in the late teens and early twenties, and is more common in males.
You should definitely get evaluated.

I'm not a professional, but I can tell you that auditory hallucinations, the voices in your head, are most often caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain. Thanks to modern medical science, there are many wonderful prescription drugs out there to help remedy this issue, and to put your brain chemicals "back in balance".
I suggest you bring it up to your doctor. He/she can refer you to the appropriate specialist who will be able to diagnose and treat your specific situation.
Good luck!
