When my son was small (like before the big boy bath) I would take off his clothes, down to his diaper. Then I would open his diaper just a little. Take the wash cloth fill it with water and slowly let the water drip on his pp. It never took more than one wash cloth full of water to do the trick. the key is leave the diaper under him then the water from the washcloth won't get everywhere and when he starts to go you just re close the diaper for a min. good luck :)

I've had 2 kids and can't ever remember worrying or caring about this! Just let him p in the bath water and then rinse him off when you're done. It won't hurt him. Babies p on themselves all day long!

I always just lay a dry wash cloth folded into 4ths over his penis-just like when changing his diaper--and that way it's soaked up in the wash cloth and not in his bath water.

this is not even an issue...newborns cannot be trained, even if he pees 1 minute before the bath he may pee again during.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Urine is really quite harmless and once it is intruduced to the bath water, it is instantly diluted. Additionally, the soap will kill any small amount of bacteria that could be in there.

I would rinse them off in warm water in the sink (I am assuming you bath him in the sink in a little tub?)

Why do you care if he goes during? Hey, it's one less diaper you've got to change if he goes during his bath.
