I've never seen any and just wondered if they're not allowed and why they're not allowed

Yes. And there are some.

Male firefigthers have been hostile to their employment on grounds that women on average have a smaller lung capacity than men, which is important for fire fighters. Of course this misses the point that it is the physique of the individual, not the sex in general, that is relevant. Fire fighters are a very tight knit community and whatever the law this may have been an informal barrier. However, fire fighters as a profession are traditionally very much in favour of workers' rights, which include equal opportunities.

Yes they are. In my area female applicants are encouraged and stand a better chance of getting the job. If there was 1 job and 3 applicants - 2 male and 1 female - and the men were better qualified/suited to the job, the female applicant would get the job

Yes they are and it is a disgrace because they substancially reduced the minimum height requirment so that small petite women are not discriminated against, so when one of you size eighteen women are left to fry in a burning building because a female fire fighter a third of your size is allocated to carry you out you might reconsider the wisdom of allowing women to do a man's job.

Yes they are. In today word women are almost equal to men in what they are allowed to do.

Yes....they can. Just not as many apply hence you don't see as many out and about.
