a geek is a person of higher intellectuality than others, that is often disliked. So her calling you a geek doesn't say much about her.

Geek
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A geek (IPA: [gi:k] is an individual who is fascinated, perhaps obsessively, by obscure or very specific areas of knowledge and imagination, usually electronic or virtual in nature. Geek may not always have the same meaning as the term nerd. The Merriam-Webster definitons are "1: a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken or snake 2: a person often of an intellectual bent who is disliked 3: an enthusiast or expert especially in a technological field or activity."

The definition of geek has changed considerably over time, and there is no definite meaning. The social and rather derogatory connotations of the word make it particularly difficult to define. The difference between the terms "geek" and "nerd" are widely disputed, as the latter might be identified as someone who is unusually intelligent, and the former as someone who has an eccentric interest towards a certain category or topic.

Hey, I think geeks can be sexy...My ex b/f was a geek, very intelligent and sexy to boot....and I loved him for being a geek. When I think of a geek, I think of someone that always made high grades in school and didn't really fit in, but hey those geeks grow up and make more out of their lives than the jocks that can just turn into "has beens" after school.....so in my book....Geeks are great!!!

A geek used to be a circus performer who would do all sorts of random things like bite the head off a live chicken. Now the word has changed to basically be interchangable with the word Nerd (nerd was first coined by Dr. Seuss).

Geek really means freak or oddity. When the term first started being used widely, it referred to the people in the carnival sideshow, usually the ones who had strange acts like biting the heads off of live chickens or driving nails through their faces.

A geek is a nerd or a loser. Geeks are usually outcast, but if they have friends they dont have many. They usually use pocketprotecters and wear glasses. Geeks like Science and Math and actually like school. they are the exact opposite of popular.
