The Phantom of the Opera. I would have LOVED to have seen it when Michael Crawford was playing the Phantom. His voice is so intoxicating. I know it by heart. Every stage move that is made, every line to every song. I even have the Phantom mask tattooed on my right leg!

Hey can I have 2 points for not answering the question too???
OK, OK, I like Oliver the best because it tells a story (many or most musicals don't even do that) and has AWESOME songs. Carousel, Fiddler on the Roof, and Sound of Music are excellent also for the same reasons.

West Side Story (and it was not a movie first). It's a perfect musical, with excellent music (by Bernstein and that upcoming lyricist Stephen Sondheim) and choreography.
As far as modern musicals are concerned, I'm currently crazy for Spamalot.
