Do birds have to open their mouths to breath or do they have nostril holes too?

Just wondering because a bird just crashed into our window and it doesn't look good for it. No responses.

Well, they do have nostrils (you should look at a bird's skull once and you will see them clearly), so please don't try to open this poor guy's mouth by force... he has probably suffered enough already...

Birds have nostrils as well, but if they'r hot they open their mouth for more air and to help cool off
