They all about equivalent except for.
1 IBM more expensive, made the best
2 DELL Less expensive than IBM and you can buy it in monthly payments works just as good but not as sturdy.
3 HP Made a little better than DELL but prone to more problems, cost a little more than DELL but less than IBM.
I have an IBM T-23 and a DELL D-600 I use the Dell the most though.

I think that you are best off with a dell or an acer. Both companies offer quality products, and great support. Check out newegg.com, as they have these and many other brands, and their laptops are incredibly cheaper then in the store. Whatever you choose, please stay away from HP. I have had more problems with them in the 2 months that I have had my laptop then in the 5 years I have had my desktop. Their support staff is incompetant, and every time you need a replacement part, they ask you for your contact information. Plus, when something went wrong with mine, they said that it violated my warrenty, even though it said nothing of the sorts in my warrenty book. I hope this helps!

To me brands dont matter its whats inside of em that makes it fast. As for support im not really sure who has the best but hp/compaq only has 1-2 year support. But i have had my compaq for about 5 years now and its treated me well, nothing wrong.

Apple has the best hardware and software integration. Macs just keep on going. Look at the specs and you will find that feature for feature Macs cost no more than other computers.
