Actually one of the best things to bathe your pet with is Joy or Dawn dish detergent. Fleas don't like it and it leaves their soft and smelling good. I have three dogs....use this all the time.

Actually, no.
The pH levels in a dog's skin are different from ours, so shampoo that's formulated for us will be much too drying to a dog's skin and could lead to some skin irritation problems.
I've heard that it's better to either use gentle baby shampoo (Johnson's is a good one) - I've also heard that if you don't have that, then a mild dishwashing liquid (like Ivory) will work. Best bet though is to buy a shampoo specially formulated for dogs. They've got some nice ones that smell like all kindsa yummy: Berry, Ocean Fresh, we're actually using one on my dog now that smells like Pina Colada - smells pretty good!

I wouldn't. Human shampoos are harsh. My dog deserves a shampoo formulation good for a dog. Some dog's skin is very sensitive. Vets are more expensive than pooch shampoo. Retrievers for example need the natural oils in their under coat for proper water resistance & warmth.

If it's the baby shampoo, it's usually okay, but the scents and conditioners in adult shampoos can really do a number on your dog's skin.

You can but it's not recommended. If you visit PetSmart, or PetCo they will have pet shampoos which is better for dog's skin.

Depends on what kind of Dog you have. Also what kind of shampoo use use. It could dry their skin and make them itch.

It will dry his skin out, but you can do it occassionally. I would suggest using baby shampoo. It's not expensive and won't burn your dogs eyes/

In don't think so. I have always used Dawn dish detergent. I learned that from my sister who raises $1000 cats that look like they would break in a strong wind, so if its good enough for her delicate cats its good enough for my dogs.
