I've read somewhere about for the automobile with certain high horsepower, the regulation (in US) that those cars can not be equipped with the stick shift transmission. Of course not counting the special racing cars.
If this is true, please point me to the articles.
Thank you,

Not true. There have been a few cases where a manufacturer has designed a high powered engine and found they don't have a manual transmission in their parts bin that fits and can take the power, so they (at least temporarily) sell a particular engine with only an automatic. But some of the 500 hp sports cars (Viper, Corvette Z06) do come with a manual transmission.

However, if you've got a 1,000 horsepower big block Chevy (Not unheard of in heavily modified street engines, but very rare), it is not easy to find a manual transmission that will stand up to that kind of power. Dumping the clutch on an engine like that is like smacking your gears with a sledgehammer. It's easier to make an automatic work behind this engine.

The type of transmission is totally dependent upon two or maybe three factors. None have much to do with horsepower.

The first involves the market demand. Is there public demand for a manual transmission in a certain vehicle? No financial sense in developing a drive train the public will reject. The public wishes a manual transmission option for fuel economy reasons in entry level cars. Purchasers of sporty cars want manual transmissions because it enhances the pleasure, feeling of control, and (at least in the past) improves performance.

Secondly, any vehicle with any transmission must meet the ever more stringent US EPA emission standards. And maybe mileage standards in the future. Some countries do tax based upon engine size. Indirectly this affects the average vehicle horsepower. You can engineer any horsepower you want, providing it meets current clean air standards.

Maybe thirdly, both the above.

I don't think that to be true.
Imports that are on the high HP end such as Ferrarri and Lambo have manual gearbox.
As far as domestics, only Vipers and Corvettes come to mind, and both are sold with stickshifts.

Never heard of that. There are plenty of 400-600 HP cars being sold today.
