False

"age-specific competencies" means basing competencies on the age of the patient.

ie
a five year old would be competent at self toileting a two year old would not.

a 20 year old would be competent n choosing an appropriate sexual partner, a 12 year old would not.

you would not suggest a 16 year old patient to have the same level of competency as 25 year old patient.

however if a patient is not competent at the same level as their age peers this would be an indicator that something is amiss. It does not mean the patient is mentally ill or unfit, it may mean they have not had the same experiences, guidance or support as their age peers.

That would be false. "Age specific competencies" has nothing at all to do with treating every patient the same.

False. The two concepts have nothing to do with each other. "Competencies" means skills and abilities. Patient treatment is based on policy and procedure.
