I want to use my timeshare to visit San Antinio next year but I want to go when it is the best weather. I know it can be scorching hot and aren't there twisters out there too? If someone out there can let me know what time of year the weather is beautiful I would be very appreciative!

My husband and I went the first week in November, and the weather was beautiful...we're from upstate NY, so mid-seventies was gorgeous to us! However, everyone said that we should come back in April for Fiesta...not too hot and lots to do. Although we found lots to do in November, too. We stayed for five days and could have stayed five more without running out of things to see and do.

I remember exactly one tornado in the last 45 years--and it wasn't one of the mid-west kind. It did some damage to a few roofs, but that was all.

Late February to late April/early May is the best bet. Next would be late fall--from maybe mid-October to December 7th. There are some spectacular days in January and February and there are some that are awful. That time is a gamble.

Today, Dec. 22nd was an upper 30's for a low with a 60's for a high kind of day.

Fiesta is towards the end of April. Basically, it is second only to New Orleans Mardi Gras for a city wide party. Three parades, huge public festivities, marching band competitions, (and occasionally some food and liquid refreshment.) Make that lots of food and liquid refreshments. But, that is also the hardest time to get reservations--so it really depends upon your set-up for reserving a place to stay. All in all, about 12 days of celebrating around town.

Late July, all of August and part of September can be very, very warm and humid. My wife welcomes guests at that time with, "Welcome to San Antonio, Home for Habitat for Humidity." That said, everything is air conditioned and you can walk along the Riverwalk in the shade any day. Most of the nightlife happens at...night, so that isn't as bad a problem.

Fiesta Texas (a Six Flags park) is open the usual season of April to October. Sea World has now extended its 06 and 07 seasons into December. Local resort golf courses (Hyatt, Weston and others) are open year round and can be played in winter without those funny orange balls I saw on courses in New Jersey...it had something to do with not being able to find the ball when that white, cold stuff was on the ground. What is that stuff?

So, if I had only two weeks to live here, it would be a hard choice. If weather is the only factor in deciding, I'd try the last two weeks in March or the last week in October and the first week in November. Otherwise, I'd try for Fiesta or the Christmas events along the Riverwalk (day after Thanksgiving through first week of January.)

Hope that helps.

Twisters? In San Antonio? Oh, please....who gave you that load of ..... San Antonio is located in a valley. The surrounding area has been known to have twisters where it is more flat, but our area? NO.

If you want to use your time share during Fiesta which is by far the best time to come to San Antonio, then you are going to have to reserve it for a year or two in advance. Fiesta is packed and people reserve sometimes two years in advance.

Actually it is quite beautiful anytime of the year and what may ot be beautiful to you is beautiful to others, even the heat. You are right July, August and September and especially September is definitely the hottest. For me, with all the beautiful wildflowers and Texas bluebonnets, April, May and June are the most beautiful. Yes, the heat rises as much as the 90's in May and June, but the mornings and evenings are very nice and there is plenty of air conditioning here.

Also, Fiesta is all over the city of San Antonio. My favorite is the Blue Star area and King Williams fair as well as the Beethoven Beer Garden, which yes, also indulges in Fiesta. In fact there are areas all over the city that enjoy Fiesta including the zoo and Brackenridge Park area, Alamo Heights. Check with the tourist bureau online. They will be more than happy to send you literature. I personally do not like the NIOSA and Oyster Fest because of the multitudes of people, but there are other areas that are a lot of fun.

In the Summer, there are the nearby lakes and rivers. Seaworld and Six Flags are a big hit. There's plenty of fun things to do here.

It depends...

The summers are brutally hot if you're not used to it. I've noticed most tourists are still surprised how hot it gets even where they know it's South Texas in the summer. From June to August, expect high nineties with heat index easily over 100s plus good luck breathing in SA crowded downtown.

The winters bring some incredible gorgeous nights. Low 40s with clear skies and you can see the Riverwalk light with Christmas lights everywhere.

But I would have to go with Fiesta time in the Spring. There is some humidity but just keep shaded and cool and you should be fine.

Please! Everyone knows that SA weather really sucks!! If you want descent weather out of SA, your best bet would be late Feb or during March. The sun isnt sucking you dry during this time. Also, there are no tornados here in SA . At least during the last 31 years I have been around. I also noticed people mentioned during fiesta time in April. Aside from the heat and walking around with your nose buried inside the persons hair walking in front of you and everyone sweating from the humidity like a MF, I dont think you would enjoy a bunch of drunk people stumbling and spilling their beer on you and then starting a public fight with you because according to them, you spilled their beer. It is not like it use to be. You also have a bunch of little gang bangers eveywhere you turn looking for trouble. I strongly recommend coming in March for some peace and quiet when the weather is OK and the theme parks open up. And no, downtown is NOT crowded. There is plenty of space to walk around and stretch your arms (except during fiesta of course).

First of all, we do get a few storms, but tornados are not common here. I love Texas spring. The wildflowers are beautiful as is the weather. Fiesta is in mid to late April, but to be honest, it can be very crowded then. If you like big street parties, its a good time, but if you want a quieter visit come in late March or early April.

During springtime. That's the best weather and Fiesta. Most attractions will be open then. Visit the official Texas travel sites and they will send you all kinds of info for free.
