No. The Forum is not psychotherapy, but it is something which may well be used by psychotherapy clients who could do with a more of a nudge

Electro-Convulsive Therapy (think that's what you're talking about?) is still sometimes used in rare situations. Like, I know that for really stubborn cases of depression that don't respond to medication and talk therapies, something like 80% of those people WILL notice improvement with ECT. That said, the methods are hardly what they used to be, and apparantly not painful and all that.

You are referring to ECT treatments.They are only used in rare cases where no other treatments are working for the patient.Doctors are very reluctant to do this procedure,but it is still done with people who suffer from severe mental illness.
