The semester is almost done!
I'm going to take grade 11 physics, biology, and chemistry next year.
What can I expect?
How difficult is it?

In my experience the only thing that makes these classes hard is poor teachers, which are often employed at public schools where the majority of the students are minorities. I have taken all these classes in high school and college and my success in them have been better in college than in high school, in high school a lack of good instruction lead to a lack of motivation to do my best.

In general chemistry is a mix of math and science therefore, if you have a strong math background than you should do well in these types of classes.

Those who are most successful in biology courses do the following in order to remember the material: reading assigned material (mainly before the lecture), pay attention during lectures (making sure to take notes), engage in class and group discussion, complete all assignments in a timely manner, and study throughout the course as opposed to cramming at the last minute. This will also save you a lot of trouble in college, that is if you plan on majoring in biology once you get to college. The more you, know the more successful you will be on the tests and the more prepared you wil be for college. There is a lot to study when you get to college in comparison to high school and following these tips would help alleviate the overwhelming fealing that often accompanies the first year of college for those who are least prepared.

Furthermore, physics is a really difficult subject area and again as with chemistry if you are good with math you will be pretty successful in this course. In addition, people who are better at figuring things out than memorizing are most successful in physics. The high school physics that I had was completely different from college physics, I took a physics course that was based on calculus and not algebra.

A lot of students don't do their best but I promise you that if you work hard, and don't let those who are not doing the same get in your way, your last year of high school and first year of college (I assume that you will be going because of the courses you said that you wil be taking next year) will be productive and fruitful. I know you can do it, and I wish you only the best.

Greetings TT

Grade 11 Science courses, like typical High School Science courses are 10 - 15 years behind cutting edge Science in the real world.
What you will be expected to learn will, of necessity, be a mixed bag...some of the material will actually be of use in the disciplines they represent. Much will be outdated...as in the Newtonian physics perspective.

At any rate, get out your best memory tricks and get ready to regurgitate your teachers' favorite theorems and opinions. Be a good mirror for his/her perspective and you will shine come report card time.

Take Heart...There is Truth and Happiness after High School.

Good Luck

The Biology is alot of memorization, Chemistry is alot of math, and physics is both.
