I just recieved a small red bellied piranha for a christmas present. It is about one inch long and I am not sure what to feed it. It looks to small to feed live fish. What is the best option for food? Will it eat goldfish flakes or cichlid food?

my friend fed thiers shrimp, but for a small one you would have to break it up into smaller pieces and they will eat it. get some flakes also and see what happens. merry christmas.

go to your petstore and ask what it should eat. Sounds like a cool present, but next time your friends should probebly tell you they are getting you a live animal and get you a book to go along with it

put anything small and meaty in there. Eventually you can work up to little fishies.
