ON AVERAGE - Yes

However, this does NOT relate to "smartness". It's very hard to define "intellegence", but, as a general "rule of thumb" intellegence is related to the ratio of brain size to the ratio of body mass. On average, boys are bigger than girls. But also, on average elephants are bigger than people. The average elephant's brain is bigger than the average person's brain. BUT .... as a ratio to body mass, humans have more brain per body weight than do elephants.

Also depends on usage. As indicated by others above, the average female uses a higher percentage of her brain than the average male does.

I'm sorry yes it is true, bigger heads tend to mean bigger brains and men are physically larger than their average female counterparts.

While this sounds like a feminist's nightmare the good news (and something you should probably make clear to your son) is that it does NOT mean boys are smarter. There has never been any evidence that men are smarter than women and in today's culture it is women who achieve better than men at GCSE's and A level - but this is not physiological. It is symptomatic of the priorities for each sex.

It is true. It's a biological difference, much like there are biological differences between races as well. Boys have larger brains, but use less than girls do. A classic example of how size doesn't matter, it's just how you use what you're given (in a completely non sexual way).

It is true, males are naturally bigger than females and have larger skulls, which means they have larger brains.

However it does not mean they are smarter.
