Setup went OK, but network shows unsecured whereas others in the area show SECURED. Do I need extra software or can the wireless router be secured ? Thanks guys !

Your router settings should have a setting to "enable WAP" that's all you need to secure your systems. All computers will have to put in the 'password' once after you initiate it.

Fire up your browser and go to 192.168.0.1

Enter admin and whatever password you assigned.

Then click the Home Tab, then on Wireless. From there, you can set up the security. Change the Security setting to Wep or WPA or WPA-PSK and enter the key values. You'll need those same key values on the computers connecting to the router.
