Because he is the real Santa Clause! that and he is funny in those type of movies a real Family man type that would fix his own lawn mower by adding a motorcycle engine to it type guy!!

and when it's a series of the same movie who else should play the part
so to me it boils down to 2 movies that are christmas related

I like Tim Allen, and I think that the people that hire him like him too. In Santa Clause 1 and 2 (I haven't seen 3 yet) he was so funny I can't blame them for picking him to star in it.

Type Casting. Once you a play a character in a couple of movies, the fans expect the same character to reappear in everything he does.
Similar to when he was Tim the Tool-man, all he could get were acting jobs related to his comedy.
What else can he play now, maybe he should be the next Superman or Batman.

They used to get people like Michael Keaton, Chevy Chase or Tom Hanks to play the everyday slub - now we get Tim Allen as the everyday guy. Besides, Jimmy Stewart is dead.
