Can i sell my contract phone?

Hi i am on orange and want to sell my 810i, and trade it for a 850i at a local traders, i want to keep my contract, sim but want to cell the actually phone

i am a phone newbie, will the new phone work with the contract, am i allowed to do this?

yes aslong as yu have your sim it doesnt matter the phone. trust me i go threw phones like udnerwear aslong as you got the sim card anyphone ( thats your carrier ex. cingular nextel tmobile....) will work!
