Because Christians on a whole are not very christian like.
The are Hippocrates and just want to judge.

To be fair, Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus; that's the reason it exists. Some Christians think that non-Christians should not be entitled to celebrate their holiday, which is understandable because it is, after all, our holiday if you want to be technical. My personal belief on the issue is that Jesus was born to teach the world about giving, loving, etc., whether you're Christian or not, so I have no problem with non-Christians celebrating the holiday as long as you're celebrating the true meaning of Christmas which, religion aside, is about love, selflessness, the joy of giving, etc.

Well there you go "assuming" that all Christians are this way. I am a Christian, and none of that matters to me. All that matters is that I do what is right for Christmas and I raise my child up celebrating Christmas the correct way. As far as others, they can do what they want.
The reason people assume is because they insist on having an answer and when they don't know the truth or get the answer they like, they create one and most often it is based upon half-baked facts and general wrong information as a whole.

You are very right... It's simply hypocritical for christians to be offended by your view of christmas when most people have already forgotten what christmas was about to begin with. It IS a very material, commercialized holiday that has very little to do with religious faith. So I respect your honesty toward it.

I have never, ever in 53 years of life seen a Christian get mad about an atheist celebrating Christmas. I have seen thousands of Atheists however denigrate and mock Christians for celebrating. Your question is a perfect example of projecting the faults of your side on the other. Shame on you.

Because Christians think that everyone should believe everything they believe. Very few celebrate it for that anyway. It's all about greed ( both the consumers & the retailers)....by the way Christians.....that's one of the 7 deadly sins!

just do what you want, is seems mundane to worry about what others are trying you to do these days. Christmas is great, and if you enjoy it, celebrate! What does it really matter what they think? Your not inviting them to Christmas dinner are you?

I totally agree....see i don't believe, and i still celebrate Christmas..it doesn't have to be about Jesus...Christmas to me is about, gatherings with family and friends, having good dinner, looking nice, giving presents and receiving them
