Have you ever been given a poor prenatal diagnosis and decided to go to term despite being told abortion is best? I did and would like to hear your story. My baby had Trisomy 13.

My first pregancy my daughter was diagnosed with Turner's syndrome and also have a lymphatic system disorder. I was told at 18 wks there was no hope and that aborting the baby would be the best option. I couldn't bring myself to do it and unfortunetly my daughter's heart stopped beating at 22 wks. She has a name and her father and I had a beautiful funeral service for her. I wish with all my heart that she had made it into this world despite all the problems that we would have encountered.

It's a hard decision to make and congratulations that you have that beautiful baby in your life!

Something I read somewhere has always struck me close to hte heart and it goes "when you become a mother you give your heart permission to live outside your body" I have a 4 month old son now and he is my heart

I have not been in this situation. Although one of my good friends did go through this. She was told that her baby would be born with Trisomy 21. She decided to keep her baby even though they told her that the child would need a lot of assistance. Her baby is so precious and she had a lot of courage for going through what she did. Her baby is what she lives for and she doesn't care what is wrong with him. My prayers are with you and i hope all goes well.

I have not had that happen, but my doctor asks at every visit if I want to do prenatal testing for disorders and such. I finally told him at the last one that a grim diagnosis would not change my mind about having my child, but if there is a chance for a severe physical deformity or something like cerebal palsy that I would want to know so that we could make as many preparations as possible.

You must have your reasons, and you gambled on a medical decision. Those are given for a reason. You are not the first one to decide against abortion.

Whether or not in the future it will turn out to be a great decision will just unfold as you live life with your child.

May the blessings be.

properly, I confronted the determination which you had to make after a bad screening, yet my CVS consequences got here back reliable. no one can decide you who hasn't walked on your steps. You had to stand realities that no-one could desire to could desire to. I study lots on a diverse board whilst i replaced into identifying if i could terminate if the information replaced into undesirable. there have been many women folk on there who had healthful little ones after terminations of DS pregnancies. the familiar public of girls who get that analysis terminate, so which you're no longer on my own.
