Hi,
I'm 45 and I don't wear much makeup. I did in my 20's (which was in the 80's and heavy makeup was very IN) but now I basically just wear a little foundation and eyeshadow. I can't tolerate mascara anymore. Anyway... the foundation I use and love is Cover Girl Clean Makeup. It's a liquid and comes in a 1 oz bottle. You can find it in the drugstore, Dollar General and grocery stores. However, Walmart is the only place I've found the unscented and it's only $3.00 or $3.50 a bottle! You can't beat that and it's really nice makeup, imo. :)

AVON has some great quality products for any age. Also it may take her some time to find the colors and such that she likes, AVON has a 100% guarantee policy, she could try the items and if she doesn't like them she can simply return, exchange whatever she chooses to do. AVON offers the convenience of browsing products online and have them shipped directly to your door. AVON has a great skin care line as well that could help her eleviate the appearance of those fine lines and give her a great complexion. Always remember, it's really what is on the inside that counts. Have a great day.

Well it's quality you want to look for in a good makeup line not so much quantity. If she has sensitive skin then you want to look for a line that is good for sensitive skin and is also good for her skin type because some makeup lines may have ingredients that aren't suitable for the individual.
One way to stretch her money is she can also use lip stick for blush if she likes cream blush. If she buys eye shadow in a three part container where she can get colours that she likes and also have a bit more choices.
If she is looking to save money then I would suggest going to cosmetic counters and getting some free makeovers when they have them. That way she can try on some brands to see how she likes it on her skin. It's one way to also get some make up tips from the make up artist or cosmetician.
One way she can save money is to look for local flyer's that advertise or check out in the business white pages or yellow pages to look up cosmetic warehouses/factories. Some times these place may have sales or you can buy cosmetics at a discount.
Another way is to check store flyer's when they have sales on and she can shop and compare prices. I can't really recommend her a costmetic line because I don't know her skin type and it's important to find that out before she considers buying that way she can know first hand what's best for her skin type.

The best products are not always from one brand. Maybelline great lash mascara is top rated. Loreal True match foundation is up there too. They make the best list and are inexpensive! See this source for why. http://www.beautyqa.com/

There is this new brand of makeup sold at Target. I don't know the name of it, but you can find it easily because its specifically designed for women around your mom's age. It might be called something like Natural Radiance, but trust me, its very obvious to spot.

Usually I find all kinds of good, inexpensive makeup that I can use in "Mary Kate & Ashley" and "Jane" product lines.
For skin creams & stuff like that..Nivea is my fav. Then L'Oreal, Neutrogena etc..
The stuff I like most- Nivea, Clinique..
