I would do a basic HTML formatting lesson, a good link is www.w3schools.com/html
for the basics you said
these are tags you put around what you want to be
bold:This is bold
size: this is bigger than the normal size
color: This message would be blue
if you want to do it to your whole page at once, study styles:
www.w3schools.com/css
or get a friend to do it for you, or one of the hundreds of gruops that specialize in myspace changing or get a preformatted page.

Tags that only require one element such as the
line break.
Tags that require an Opening and Closing tag such as
where the closing tag contains is preceded with a forward slash (/).
