i am not a christian and invited to a party on christmas eve
i wanna buy a gift but dont know what to buy...any suggestions....thnx

Gift ideas:
1. Box of chocolates or other candy.
2. A plant (ex. poinsettia) or blooming bulbs.
3. A set of fragrant soaps.
4. A bottle of liquor or wine.
5. Gift certificate for bookstore, dept. store, Starbucks or movie tickets.
6. A holiday ornament or decoration. (i.e.Xmas tree ornament, holiday figurines like a ceramic snowman or cookie jar, holiday towels, a holiday flower arrangement)
7. A datebook or calendar for 2007.

Of course it depends on the person's likes / dislikes.
Wine is always a nice standard gift to bring to a party.
If they celebrate Xmas/ have a tree you could give a nice ornament.
For friends and aquainteces I usually get smaller things like gift baskets of cookies, chocolate, hand lotions, coffee, candles.
You can find these kinds of things most anywhere but if you are looking to speand $20+ my fav is Harry and David (harryanddavid.com)

Buy the hostess(host) a bottle of champagne, that way she(they) can drink it on New Years Eve....Or a box of chocolates are always nice.Be safe on your way home from the party...Merry christmas......

if the hosts are not teetotalers, a nice bottle of wine or brandy would suffice. if you know are not sure that they do not use alcohol, then take a candle/candle holder set or a selections of cocoa mixes or mixed nuts/nutcracker.
