I started reading at 4 as well and we didn't have Hooked on Phonics back then.

In Oklahoma, they used a method called "Sherly English" named after the woman who develpoped the method. I was already reading by this time, it was a natural ability. I started before my mother taught me. I can't even really remember when I *really* started reading, I just remember as a 2 year old I thought "What is that letter, and what does that sign say?" and then I knew. Strange, but I have always had a love for reading, and honestly I think Hooked on Phonics has screwed up more people, trying to teach them how to spell, then it has taught anyone how to read. I mean, I am sure I have mispelled something here in this post, but I wouldn't be able to tell you beacuse it "Looks" and "sounds" right, and according to Hooked on Phonics, it's most likely right. But, how many words can "Hooked on Phonics" tell you to spell incorrectly?

Hey there,
If you want to learn how to draw realistic pencil portraits I strongly recommend this site http://pencilportraits.toptips.org
I have bought their course because I wanted to be able to draw realistic portraits and I felt that I did not have the skills to produce a beautiful realistic portrait.
This course has been a great help, although I still need loads of practice I feel that I have learned so much through following this course in techniques and observation. The lessons are so easy to follow especially with the aid of the process maps which show which steps to tackle next.
