There is a cooperative mode for all of the current generation systems (no coop on the 360). You can definitely play split screen on all of them. I don't know much about the PS2's online capabilities but I would imagine you can play online or via system link as well.

As for the other answer about Sam being a traitor, he's not. He's a double agent, which means he's still working for the government but has infiltrated a terrorist organization. Besides, you don't play as Sam in cooperative mode anyway; you play as two other Splinter Cell agents.

Yes, there is a co-op mode but I think that you have to be online to play it.

No there is not because Sam Fisher is a traitor now.So you can't play co-op because he has no known allies besides the terrorists he works for now.
