On Epiphany (Jan 6th), usually. Sometimes I'm lazy and leave them up a little longer but that's my marker.

I take everything down after New Year's. I do NOT like the lights left up all year long on the house,it makes it look tacky to me,but some don't like to bother with the taking down and putting up again next year,I also feel it is a safety issue to protect them from the elements of hail, heat, etc during the rest of the year. Thanks for your question and Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to ALL of us!!!!!!

I like to leave the lights up through winter. And I am offended at the person who said that is lazy. I just like them. What's wrong with that?

Also, We traditionally don't decorate until Christmas Eve. Why would I want to take everything back down two days later?

We put our decorations up after Thanksgiving Day and take them down after the New Year. Sometimes we don't get to the lights outside right away due to being exhausted from all of our travelling. But, it should definitely be done by February. Do not leave them up all year. It makes your neighbors think you are lazy.

I generally take everything down on christmas day and then that way I don't have to worry about doing it later but this year I am going to do it later because some of my friends can't do it with me until after the new year so that is when I'm going to do it.

Many people leave their decorations up until The Epiphany, January 6th. Until the adoption of the Gregorian calendar, the day on which Christmas Day was celebrated. It is the traditional end of the Christmas season. Hope that helps.

Our tree goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I have to keeping putting the decorations back on it after my little girl takes them off. The tree comes down and all is packed away on Jan. 1st. My family comes over for a New Year's meal. I make corned beef and cabbage and black eyed peas. They take the decorations down with me. We don't decorate the outside, not even those silly blow up things because we are renting and I am not investing in lights ect. to deco. a house I don't own.

My mother, who has since passed on was born on January 3rd. She told us when she was little that she begged her parents to leave up the tree until her birthday. So, in remembrance, I leave our little tree up on Jan 3rd and take it down the day or two after. Maybe some people will find that weird - but, I think she sees it some where and appreciates the gesture.
