Actually, 'he' is a woman and not that attractive (that doesn't bother me too much because I rarely have to see her), but she does deliver the mail in all weathers. Should I pay her some appreciation and bung her a fiver?

Sure. It's good to be nice to people that are helping keep your country run.

Yes! A Christmas "box" is relied upon by low paid roundspeople to pay for their Christmas. Given that most of them are on minimum wage, I always give my milkman, postman and bin men at least a fiver (sometimes ten) at christmas.

A postal worker makes good money so why not bake some cookies and give them a Christmas card. Now I tip the garbage workers. We have three that come by the house and I give them a ten spot each. The first year I did it they about passed out. That is one nasty job and it is hard work. They deserve it and I have been rewarded many times over because I get the best service on the block.

It's a matter of personal choice I tip mine because I have never had a wrong letter through my door and he always shuts my front gate the only postman that ever has

Cash seems a little inappropriate. How about box of cookies, candy, Starbucks gift card? Uh or a gift certificate for a makeover.

Why is it that you don't see any hottie busty, leggy blond postal carriers on your route? Is it the uniform? Would they allow deliveries in mini's and heels?

I try to tip anyone who does something all year round for me. The postman, garbage men, and landscaper all get a modest tip from me. Its for doing something that otherwise goes unnoticed.

I've gotten to know mine over the years. Likes Hieneken, so I give him a six-pack every year. Not much, but it's now a tradition that surely makes him smile. I appreciate what he does.

posties actually get quite good money.

does she ever stop for a chat etc.... if not then she is just doing her job that she chose and she does get paid. could you imagine if every houshold gave her a fiver, she'd be 10 yrs closer to retirement.

i work for the health service do you think we get tips for the, all year crap we have to put up with.
certainly not. even if we did we wouldn't be allowed to accept it.

Yes. I own up to some interest in this as I am a postman.

If your mail carrier is not like mine I would give him/her a tip. Mine is a total whacko. If I don't answer the door right away, he'll just walk in my house! Seeing me in my undies is tip enough for him.

He makes extremely good money. Just give him a nice Christmas card and let that be suffice. That's what we do each year and they rspond with thankfulness. It's always the small things people do that carries a lot of weight (appreciation)!
