My BEST friend got accepted into Harvard & she's going to major in English. We're practically sisters. We live nextdoor to eachother and there isn't a moment when we're not together. I'm just as smart as she is, but I didn't apply to Harvard because I want to go to school for Art [I don't like Harvard's programs for Art]. Could anyone tell me any schools relatively close to Harvard that I could apply to? (I'm going to college next year, she's a year older than me). I don't care about the academic rating because I probably could get a scholarship into a college. Help? Please and thank you!

if you're looking at studying art/going to art school in Boston there's Massachusetts College of Art, New England Institute of Art and School of the Museum of Fine Arts are good art schools (especially Massachusetts College of Art and School of the Museum of Fine Arts). I know people at all three and they seem happy enough and both are available by the Boston T subway system (like Harvard). Of course because they're art schools, being smart is not enough, you'll probably need a portfolio etc. If this is not the route you want any of the schools others have mentioned should have alright art programs. Good luck!

Well fortunately there are a lot of good schools nearby Harvard. Tufts is an excellent school (often overshadowed by Harvard, but very good). Brandeis is also a good school, although I don't recommend it (too many people I know that have gone there have been unhappy). Boston University and Boston College are both there and both good. If you're willing to go a little further away, UMass Amherst is an excellent school, and if you're willing to go a little further out still (maybe an hour out of Boston), there's both Brown and RISD (Rhode Island School of Design, which is a very well known art school). The Northeast is awesome for schools, since they're all around and not too far away from each other.

Wellesley College
UMass Boston
Boston College

Good luck!

Well there are tons of schools in the Boston area, Northeastern, Boston U, Boston College, Tufts(which is probably the second best academically), and many many others.

everyone pretty much mentioned the more difficult schools to get into in the area, but there are many more. umass, lesley, emerson, suffolk, etc. go to the library or talk to a counselor.
