You really need to show her the beniffits of playing hockey. If she sees all of the good things that come out of it then she will have no choice but to let you play.

Tell your mom that you want to play rugby or american football. Then, after she flips out and says its waaaay too dangerous, tell her you'll settle with hockey where it's a little safer then. ; )

No seriously though, I've been playing goalie for almost 15 years now and have only had one serious knee injury from a collision. My friend who plays as a right winger seems to miss at least a game or two a season from injuries. You're going to get some bruises and welts in your games but rarely, if ever, will a goalie get seriously injured in a recreational league.

As far as the money thing goes. Goalie equipment definately isn't cheap so go with used stuff. Look for a "consignment" sporting goods store around. They usually have some pretty good used goalie equipment and offer to work to pay for some of it.

ok nicely first you seem around on your close by ice rink and ask approximately there accoasiations software (maximum grant finacial help and can grant maximum kit) and are available across a chum that performs that could help you out many of the time they might have previous kit so which you would be able to take and that they might help you already know the interest greater suitable even consistent with possibility get you on there team..and finally you're in no thank you to previous to connect i understand people who have joined at sixteen years previous..whilst your thirteen you pass into hockey on the peewee point which does no longer enable HITTING OR touch..it quite is whilst your a battam is once you initiate hitting and touch so as that provides you time to get used to the interest and ge greater suitable at it..ive performed hockey for eleven years and via far its the suitable interest ever you ought to have a blast!

Well, it all depends on your age and experience.

I'm not going to say, "Go tell your mom that you will never get hurt and that you are an awesome goalie," if you're not.

So, sign up for an intramural ice hockey league. That would be your best bet at this moment in time.

Good luck! And I hope you begin to play hockey!

Earn extra money on your own and buy used equipment...or offer to split the cost with her. If she sees you working that hard to get equipment, she may soften up and let you play. When I was 11, I bought my first hockey skates at Goodwill and they looked like a joke compared to the rich kids' skates, but I didn't care. I owned them and I paid for them with my own cash (I think I paid $7). Anyway, my parents knew I seriously wanted to play hockey so after that they helped me pay for equipment and league fees. I mowed a lot of lawns and shoveled a lot of snow, but it was worth it.

That's a tuff one. If she's worried you'll get hurt, tell her she has to let go and let you experience life on your own. Her fear maybe holding you back. If you really want this, don't let it go you'll find a way.
