Yes. Most time I do. I am trying to get over it but it is difficult. Some say that I missed the Gift Of Giving. I guess that giving is it's own reward. I did not however miss the gift of recieving.

It depends on the gift. If it was something rather expensive or at least well thought-out then yeah, I'd feel bad. But you can always try to do something in return even if it isn't as a Christmas present. The line "Wow! I really owe you!" will usually get the ball rolling on that so you can figure out if they even want something from you.

Nope, not at all. To me gifts should be personal, heartfelt expressions for the people you really care about in your life. They should be unconditional, like love itself. If I give a gift to someone I would much rather receive a thank-you than some meaningless trincket that many people keep on hand "just in case". To me that's very tacky. Giving someone a gift just because they gave you something is not what the season is supposed to be about.

I do feel bad. The wife unit is very good though at covering our bases of people who potentially could get us gifts. It's also good to have an arsernal of last minute gifts like Starbucks gift cards or something.

Yes, alittle bit I have to admit, but I get over it quickly, because I discuss it with certain people if we are exchanging gifts, how am I suppose to know if some one is planning to get me a gift?...and I give everyone a card, so i guess I don't feel that bad, but for a second.

Yes. This one friend of mine gets me something every year. I don't gift outside of the family b/c mine and the husband's family is so large. He has 5 nieces and nephews and I have nine. We also have our parents and a child. Not to mention each other. That can get expensive. We have limits on my side of the family, but his does not. They only have one to buy for, not five. Anyway, I have learned to live with it b/c she knows the deal with the big families. I rather she not get me anything, but what do you do?

Yes I do,it happened again this year,My neighbors gave me a plate with cookies and candy on it but I have no money to give them anything in return. So,I have decided to surprise them and mow their yard for them while they are gone for the Christmas weekend. That way,in my own small way,I am giving something to them in return.

Of course. I try to avoid this by buying extra little "things" that I can give as gifts in a pinch.

yes, I was unemployed and under orders from some family friends not to buy them gifts so when they gave me gifts I felt really bad because I was recieving and not giving.
