mystery, horror, suspence, stories?

can any one give me some good stories that are one of the genras above. (not stephen king) (i probably have a lot of spelling errors but i don't care)

I suggest An Unsuitable Job for a Woman by PD James. I usually don't like mystery/suspense but this book got me hooked! I never knew mystery could be such a good read =] It might be a little gory & disturbing but it's all good.

Barbara Michaels/Elizabeth Peters, J. D. Robb, Dean Koontz, are all great authors. Hope you enjoy some of their books.
