There are a number of foundations that work to help our exconvicts get a job or start a business. Here are a few of them:

Prison Entrepreneurship Program http://prisonentrepreneurship.org/ which is described as "a Houston-based nonprofit organization that leverages the skills of senior business executives to constructively redirect these talents and equip inmates and former inmates with entrepreneurial training—enabling them to productively re-enter society."

Delancey Street Foundation http://www.eisenhowerfoundation.org/grassroots/delancey/ focuses on helping ex-felons to help themselves through training and education, including classes at a chartered high school and college classes.

Safer Foundation http://www.saferfoundation.org/viewpage.asp?id=4 helps formerly incarcerated individuals re-enter their communities.

I am a career coach at my church and recently read about this service we are thinking about participating with called Jobs4Life. See their information at http://www.jobsforlife.com/.

Good luck and Godspeed on your journey.
