Lots of practice...I do that all the time and at first I wasnt too good at it but now I am a pro...If you mess up just try again. You will get it.

I pull my top eyelid so that it's smooth, then start from the inside corner and move slowly and deliberately to the outside edge. I like my eyeliner a little thicker on top than bottom (gives the charcoaly look).

It depends if you're using pencil, crayon, or liquid eyeliner. For beginners, I recommend pencil because it's the easiest to control and erase if you mess up. Start by using your fingertip to gently pull your eyelid taut, and slowly apply a thin line above your eyelashes. It helps to use short, controlled strokes (unless you're using liquid - then you'll want to do an even line, it takes some practice). Try to get it as close to the lashes as possible. For a softer look, you can use a q-tip or your finger to smudge the color gently. Top off your look with some eyeshadow and mascara and you're good to go!

1) Gently stretch the corner of your eye.
2) Start from the inner corner and draw a line as close to the lash as possible.
3) Use a sharp liner (not too sharp).
4) Try revlon colorstay liner or MAC fluidline. Both of which are top liners. See this source for why. http://www.beautyqa.com/
5) Smile and look into the mirror because you're still beautiful even if the line is straight or not! : )

I've never been able to do this, but I've heard it enough to believe that it works...smudge the eyeliner (however thick you want) as close to your eyelashes as possible, then take a q-tip or an angle brush and smudge it in, fanning out and up as you read the end of your eyelid.

Really it depends on the look you're going for.
If you're going for a subtle look its probably best if you dont pull your eyelid to the side, because although it may be easier, when you've finished your eyeliner it'll often look thicker than when you were applying it.

take the liner and place it right where it is half way on your eyelashes and half on your eye and draw a straight line for a thinner line and put it all the way on your eyelid if you want a thicker line. you may want to pull your eye sideways so that the line will be smoothly put on. <<3

open your eye and have a steady hand, think of dead puppies. apply eyeliner, just keep your eye open long enuff so that you can apply it with out blinking and messing up. just like the bottom one, apply slowly and using a mirror. well good luck!!!!
ps. buy alta 3 or rimmel a thin liner so that it is easy, it is specially made and eye is sensitive, so becareful!
