I'm trying to describe an evil creature's eyes but the word yellow seems a bit bland

Chrome; gold or golden; blonde; sallow; straw-coloured; buttercup; egg ... none of those really fits the bill, though. I applaud your desire not to use adjectives (over-use of adjectives is often a giveaway for poor writing) but maybe you could preface the word 'yellow' with something nasty that's also yellow-coloured, like pus, jaundice, etc.

golden or the creatures eyes were a gleaming color of yellow or gold. or the creatures eyes looked like yellow flames ready to burst. something like that not just a color add verbs and adjectives to kk ttyl.!!
