Our dog and cat shed everywhere, and the only places that we aren't able to keep clean are the hardwood floor in the living room and the Pergo floor in the kitchen. We've tried everything from our vaccuum cleaner to a Swiffer to a dust mop, but we can't ever pick up all of the hair. What has worked for you?

i bought a type of mop at home depot last year. the handle is bright yellow and the head is black. the head is just made of rubber, one side like a squeegie and the other side is rubber teeth. it picks up everything off of a hardwood or tile floor. i use it every day... they were sold on tv with a goofy name like magic mop... or something. i just checked ebay and found one... same color as mine... check out : http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-Dutch-Broom-Great-for-Pet-Hair_W0QQitemZ130061328933QQihZ003QQcategoryZ46305QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

They are calling it an Original Dutch Broom.... it works... I got mine at Home Depot for $10...

I have two dogs and two cats and the whole house is laminate wood flooring -- hate to tell ya, but you're never gonna get it all! The various tools I like to keep handy are: regular broom and dustpan (least effective!), swiffer sweeper (ok), and one of those big, long janitor-type mop/brooms (don't wet it though, just use as a dry sweeper). The other thing is to just vacuum under/around everything. It sucks but its one of those prices you pay for the love of puppies!

Get a micro fiber dusting cloth (lots of places have them - Target, WALMART, etc.) and attach it to your swiffer like you would a swiffer cloth.

Brush your animals daily around special times of year (like holidays) to help keep the house cleaner. I have to brush the cats all the time. They don't love it but they tolerate it if I give them treats.

The only true way to get rid of all the hair is to get rid of the animals and have the whole house professionally cleaned, including your air ducts.

But if you love those babies enough to have them in the house, you will have to learn to live with never getting all the hair up. It's a never ending job.

You're never gonna get it. I have the same problem. You'll end up sweeping 5 times a day if u try. They have this new giant lint roller thing on a stick... u can try that. or the swiffer flicker.

A broom works well, but I have to agree with all the other posters that Swiffer does work pretty good.

cello tape, lint remover like the sticky rolls that gets hair off clothes, a damp sponge, anything that as an adhesive quality

try putting a fabric sheet on your swiffer and see if that does the trick
