it depends on where you live and who you mix with!
the average height of an american male is 5"10.5" and the standard deviation is 2.5"
so probably around 6'2": for an american male is tall and 5"5 is short
new zelanders, south africans, australians and the dutch tend to be taller with men having an average closer to 6' so there you probably need to be 6'4"
I live in hawaii and have polynesian bloodlines am 6'4" and most of my friends are over 6' so polynesian men are bigger too

Well, 5'8 or so is about average, but seeing even 6'0 isn't too uncommon. I think that someone 6 feet tall is still pretty tall, and anything above that would be undeniably tall.

It is all in perspective. If you are 5' then someone that is 6' is going to be tall. On average I would think anyone over 5'9" is tall.
