On my Carrier Weathermaker, code 14 is "Ignition lockout". It also sez that the unit will reset after three hours...quite a while if it's really cold outside INHO.

Anyway, ours has had that code before and I fixed it by taking a fine grit sandpaper (like 500 grit or finer) and using it to remove the oxidation on the sensor probe by the igniter. If you look at your furnace where the burners are located when it comes on, there will be a slender rod that is in the middle of the flames. That rod is a sensor that lets the system know that there is fire and that the gas has ignited. If it doesn't sense the fire, it turns the burner off so that you won't have unburnt natural gas escaping into your home. The problem is that this probe gets coated with oxidation from being in the fire and stops sensing. By removing the oxidation, you allow it once again to function.

Just don't be too forceful when removing the oxidation. A very light sanding with very fine grit sandpaper should do the trick.
