Extremely bad. You HAVE to immediately drain out the excess! Do not drive it until you do. You are going to blow out seals and gaskets, at the least, and over-pressurize and blow the engine at the worst.

If your over the full mark on your oil dipstick you can possibly run in to problems, like blowing out oil seals in your engine, slowing down the flow of oil in your engine, always keep your oil levels at the full mark is a better solution unless you have alot of money for a rebuild or worse a new motor! I hope my advise to you can help you, take care and God Bless

Hi there - it can blow the seals between your engine and transmission over time - making a mess. Also, a fire hazard if gets on manifolds.
If you put ALOT of oil so that pistons pump the oil around indirectly, you can damage the engine with hydrostatic pressure. This can blow out the engine case or oil pan. DON'T RUN IT!!! Fix it!

Its BADDDDDDD!
To much oil will increase the engines oil pressure and can blow gaskets. Head gasket, main seal, valves, etc....non are cheap repairs....if its only a small quantity (1/2 quart or less) youll be ok...if its move, you better drain some out. Better safe than sorry!
If far better to get dirty draining it than risking a $200-$1000 repair!

The rear main oil seal will blow out.. discharging oil under the car and on to the hot exhaust system. [causing car fire perhaps?]

Oil droplets on the back end of older junkier vehicles tell the story of blowed out rear main engine seals. [airflow deposits them there]

Drain the over filled oil.. so that oil level is correct.

It's not that bad, you wont blow your engine. It would be bad if you put 10 quarts in, when your engine calls for 5. But if it is over by a quart or less, nothing will happen.

if the crank shaft hits the oil in the pan it can churn the oil by introducing AIR creating foaming. this can cause erratic if not LOSS of oil pressure..

if its a lil extra say maybe a quart, itll prolly be ok, if its alot, then drain it immediately, you can blow seals internally and literally fry the engine

Very bad. Drain some off before you attempt to drive it.
