I am currently using a DSL connection whose tariff is calculated on the basis of volume e.g. data sent/receipt. The main problem in this is whenever I connect internet, the system sends and receives data (it takes no time to tranfer 2 mb of data) and hence the total bill amount jumps up. In a time based tariff plan, u r billed on the basis of time which can be tracked properly hence u can keep a calculated control on the internet usage. But still wondering whether the switching over will at all be helpful (moneywise) or not.

If you have more volumes to down load better go for time based connection. If you donot down load much, volume base is better so that you can spend more time on PC at your lieasure time. I can give you a link that deals with the internet connection Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections.
