You've seen all those movies and shows were the main characters had pretty creative ways of surprising their partners with gifts. Take for instance, Ed Harris and Julia Roberts in Stepmom. Ed Harris tied a string on Julia Roberts ring finger and slipped an engagement ring.

I already surprised my wife with some pearl earrings hidden under the pillow. But she didn't feel the box, so I actually had to give her a hint. I'd like to do better in surprising her with a second gift. This time I got her a Bulova watch.

If you have a dog, you could try this:
Hook the watch onto your dog's collar at an appropriate time. Buy a squeaky dog toy or anything else that your pooch will respond to (whistle, chew toy, etc.). Wrap THAT up and label it to your wife. Keep chatting it up for a few days, like telling her you can't wait to see her face light up when she opens it up. When she does finally open it, you can act excited and stupid all at the same time. Imagine the look on her face as you are asking her if she likes her new squeak toy. Hopefully she is inwardly extremely disappointed, because when she finally gets the dog to come over to her, and she finds the real gift her sorrow will melt into joy and you will be the man.

put it in her purse, put it in her coffee pot (or anything she uses daily in the morning), have it sent to her office (or if you know where shes going, send it there), have one of your kids (do you have kids? i dunno) give it to her, give her a treasure hunt with the watch at the end of it and use clues from when you were dating/ only things that the two of you would know.
good luck! i think that it is so nice that you are being so thoughtful... its very romantic!!
