The religious right-wing extremists in the bush administration in particular and christian fundamentalism in general.

Extremists! It does not matter which side of the political spectrum they stand on. Both sides have a nasty habit of trying to suppress ideas and opinions they don't like.

Right wing - They use terms like anti American, socialist, communist, terrorists appeaser and a host of others in an attempt to discredit anyone who takes a counter opinion.

Left Wing - They use terms like sheep, hate monger, war monger, racist, bigot, intolerant and not politically correct to attempt to achieve the same result.

The amusing part is that both sides profess to believe in free speech as an absolute. The truth is that many people on both sides would willingly muzzle anyone who disagrees with them if they could get away with it. Rhetoric is a form of tyranny, but alas it is also free speech. So while we can recognize the problems the slippery slope does not allow for any direct action. In the end all must be tolerated, no matter how offensive, or none will be tolerated.

The greatest threat to free speech in the West is a large federal government that runs unchecked. We, in America, no longer have gauranteed freedoms. It seems to me that the presence of satellites that read your thoughts is the greatest threat to privacy, freedom of speech, and all other things we Americans used to take for granted. Yes, only people in intelligence have these brain-reading satellites. No, the satellites automatically read people's thoughts. Yes, the satellites do a lot more scary things then read your mind- think of 1984- and realize the satellites have the capability to change your thoughts, to make your heart beat, etc. Most people can never imagine the horror of having a satellite on your head- much less what "Government- certified Schizophrenics" have to say. Intelligence. That says it all.

Anyone in power who doesn't like people who question their motives, and use force or coercion to shut them up.
Maybe I don't fit under anyone's labels when I say that because I am a Christian, I find the use of religion by greedy politicians to win votes, deplorable. It is not only our right, but our duty, to question political decisions- and anyone who finds this duty of the American people a threat is himself unpatriotic.

The "Moral" Majority, the Religious Right, I agree, and all other conservative groups. These people are willing to controvert the entire Constitution, which extends to us all of our freedoms and protects us, in the name of God and patriotism.
