If you know the person, it's always good to smile. It often depends on the mood you are in, but smiling tells people that you are welcoming towards them. I like people who smile back when you greet them. It's being friendly. If it's somebody you don't want to be friendly to, then there is no reason to smile. Otherwise, it is good to smile back.

Yes always, its polite I hate those people who don't smile back makes em seem snobby. I am usually the one who smiles first, and says hi.

I do. I try to smile at everyone who smiles at me. There are entirely too few smiles around the world.....and we could use more! It helps me be in a better mood if I feel crappy, too.

yes I usually do. It is just polite.I cant stand smiling at someone and they look at me like I am crazy. So I always try to give back what I get :) see I smiled at you!

yes I do I make them feel good like they made me feel good. The only time I haven't smiled back if it is some creepy looking guy then I give him a dirty look.
