My ribbon cables go like this:

Motherboard>>Hard Drive>>Cd Drive
Motherboard>>Floppy Drive

How do i get more cables for new cd drives? (I only have the 2 filled sockets in my motherboard)

Is there any cable that will allow me to do this?:

Motherboard>>Hard Drive>>Cd Drive>> Cd Drive
Motherboard>>Floppy Drive>> Cd Drive

The IDE ribbon plugs in to an IDE port. Most motherboards have two IDE ports that each can handle two devices for a total of four. Floppy ribbons and connectors are smaller and are incompatible with IDE devices. If you have a total of three ports (two IDE ports and a floppy port) on your motherboard then you can buy another IDE cable and hook up two more devices. If not, you can buy an add-in card that will provide you with two IDE ports.

For starters, each interface connection only supports two IDE devices so your limit is 4 on the MB.

Any computer store will sell a cable with three connection points, one for teh MB and then 2 for each IDE device.

If you need more then 4 devices within the system, you will need to add an expansion card. These cards often have 2 more IDE ports, which in turn will support 4 more devices.

Your floppy drive is usually (which is to say I've never seen it) on the same cable as your HD. CDrom/DVD/HD's often will share cables (IDE) between them.

Your motherboard supports up to 2 IDE interfaces with up to 2 IDE devices (hard drive, CD, or DVD) per interface. The floppy channel supports one or two floppy drives.

If you need more than that, I'd suggest a SATA interface.
