the answer lies in your question. as you have stated this is the first job you are feeling nervous. it is common for all people. you need not worry and don't get anxiety.once you join the job and concentrate on the work allotted to you, all the anxiety and nervousness will vanish.one of the staff will introduce you to the staff and say hello to all of them with a smile. try to move freely with them. don't have inhibitions to learn any things from your seniors.your seniors will certainly help you. wish you all the best.

Good for you! First, on getting a job, second, for being nervous. I think your worries are about whether you will be able to do a good job or not. What that displays is committment, and a willingness to do things right. When I was hiring people, I NEVER hired those who exhibited a casual attitude toward the job, the people that were concerned if their performance would measure up are always the best emplyees. So, pat yourself on the back, tell yourself that you are going to be a great employee, ask questions, and smile. Sometimes you've just got to be like a duck, calm on the surface, but paddling like heck where it can't be seen. You'll be terrific.

Nothing anyone will say will make you less nervous. You just have to go in with an open mind and positive attitude. That is what employers want. Even if you make a couple of mistakes, don't worry about it. Employers understand and are willing to train people who want to learn. Ask questions about things you don't understand to make you the best at what you do. Remember even first time jobs can help you for future jobs. Goodluck

We all have to make that step and we all survive (most of us).
Suggestions:
1. Learn the culture
2. Don't get into cliches to soon (if at all)
3. Dress for your next higher position
4. Arrive on time and leave on time.
5. Learn to work smarter not harder.
6. Keep documentation of things for future reference.
7. Write things down when someone is training you.
8. Know that you are there to do a job not make friends. If the latter happens then that's even better.
9. Feel people out before you trust them with your thought -- gossip is a no-no
10. Attend all the boring parties and "fake it til you make it."

You'll just have that feeling like you get by being in a new house and it'll only last a couple of days. Dont worry about it, people are usually pretty nice with the new Girl/Boy and will expect you to make mistakes !! Good luck
P.S this is about my first serious answer !!

Take deep breaths. Remember, everyone knows its your first day. It's okay to ask questions, in fact, definitely ask questions.
Most of all, try to relax. Starting anything new is hard. You'll ease into the routine after a little while and then wonder what you were so worried about.

Someone once told me that being nervous and being excited has the same affect on you. So when you are nervous just tell yourself that you are excited.
