Are bands like marilyn manson and slipknot a good way for people to channel their rage/unhappiness, or does it make people even more miserable and unhappy?

To tell you the true Slipknot has made me come out my shell. I used to be afraid of people and not very motivated in life. Know its all changed thanks to Corey and his 8 brothers. Wait n Bleed and Duality makes me want to take on the world and breaks its neck.

Very positive. I'm a depressive by nature and have seen Marilyn Manson live a couple of times, and each time I came away feeling good, warm and happy.

I think it depends on the person. There are some people who..and this is going to sound bad...just don't have the emotional maturity to deal with that kind of music and it's like it makes them crazy. For example, the Columbine kids.

On the other hand, if the person realizes that it's just music and appreciates it for that, there's nothing wrong with it.

If you fill your mind with negativity, hate, sexual obsessive thoughts, aggression, etc... you will see the world through those eyes. There is no reason to be filled with rage or unhappiness and then "channel" it though more rage and unhappiness. If you car is filled with garbage does it release the garbage in the car to keep adding more and more and more?

No.

Stopping listening to that garbage will gradually help people to improve their self-image and self-confidence.

I dont listen to that type of music, I find it unbareable. So if I had to endure it, it would definatley make me very miserable and unhappy.

A positive will give. A negative will take. You can't have a negative eternity.
